ETC theater classes teaches the three pillars of theater: acting, singing and dancing to all those with physical and developmental disabilities. Through theater games, improvisation, music and dance the program enhances verbal skills, improves movement, builds self-confidence, and advances socialization while stimulating free thinking. ETC creates options for personal growth by exploring all the learning opportunities theater has to offer. Actors, with the assistance from instructors and shadows, select their songs and edit and/or write their own scripts. Each individual class provides a setting for inclusion with the involvement of the entire community as volunteers; mostly high school students. The volunteers also known as shadows; work along with the special needs students on and off the stage.
